that would always shine, but never burn
I sought you in the stars
and looked for mountains to move.
I was told to find you in the earthquake -
That I would see my dreams
and change the world with a word.

So I called into the wind,
but all that came back was empty echoes
and the mountains stubbornly refused to teleport themselves away
                                                                                      however much I shouted.

Then, I heard you in the silence
and saw the mountains move -
Only one stone at a time
                                                                                       but that was enough
                                                                                   to tell you my dreams
and change my mind with a whisper.

And I would rather your soft silence
                                                                                          than any earthquake
